It is a network of like-minded individuals, businesses, donors, and non-profit organizations working together toward a common goal: protecting the Planet's future.
It is simple: participating companies commit to donate 1% of their annual turnover to associations approved by the "1% for the Planet" committee.
Connecting sponsors and companies with project-led organizations to efficiently maximize donations for the benefit of the environment.
This non-profit organization was launched in 2002 in the USA by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies.
Chouinard and Mathews' incentive to attract members is to show them how their businesses can merge expansion and philanthropy. Today they have more than 1,800 members in over 45 countries, coming together to protect the future of our Planet.
Since its creation, 1% for the Planet has donated over 175 million euros to environmental organizations that offer solutions to issues relating to climate, food, land, pollution, water, and wildlife.
