recycled polyester

The major manufacturing difference between recycled polyester from PET plastic bottles and virgin polyester is its impact on the environment. The production of recycled polyester requires 2/3 less energy and about 90% less water than virgin polyester production. Recycling PET plastic bottles to create fabrics prevents discarded plastic going to landfills. Using more recycled polyester reduces dependence on petroleum (as no new petroleum is required to produce PET plastic bottles). The performance, durability and high-strength values of PET are the same as that of virgin polyester but with lower environmental impact.
